My work investigates perceived follies in contemporary American society. I question the legitimacy and authority of government, in an attempt to understand what systems have been laid out for us, and where we each ‘should’ lie within them. My work is political and sometimes critical of politics. Issues in U.S. criminal justice systems, global environment, communities, media, governmental ethics, gender, and race relations motivate me to produce. Didactic in nature, I work to invoke thought and spread awareness on various societal and environmental issues and advocate for change.
I am fascinated with identity, and how personal identity plays a role in social, cultural, political, economic, and governmental systems. Much of my work is centered around unpacking and determining what identity is. My own as an individual, others as individuals as well as identity on a collective scale.
